Time to get some rest, but where? Norway is the destination this time. Beautiful landscape and very calm environment. But of course, I am also there for the food. I did had some great food here and there, but none of them didn’t got my full attention. They were nice though, but I want something more special.
After some walk we stumbled on a Turkish coffee & teahouse. My first impression was, “wow, this looks very cozy”. Cozy chairs, a lot of space between the tables for the privacy, lovely music and the vibe was awesome. When I sat there, I felt right at home!
We were welcomed with the most friendliest man. At some point I even meet his wife and kids. The coffee & teahouse doesn’t use a menu. Instead, he makes something new everyday. Sometimes you just tell him what you feel like and he will adjust to your taste and make something completely different. For example, I wanted some tea, but I didn’t know what kind of tea exactly. He pulled out 20 different kinds of tea to make sure I picked the right one. The tea was really good! Delicious flavor of fruits, good taste and not too strong.
As we were drinking tea we noticed him making soup. We tried to guess what kind of soup he was making, so in the end we wanted to try the soup. We asked what kind of soup it was, and it was lentil soup! The soup had fresh herbs, paprika powder and mint on top. The combination of every ingredient in this dish was so good! This made it all complete for me. I have found my new favorite coffee & teahouse.
I was so enthusiastic about this place that I have decided to have my evening of dinner there.
With dinner I wanted something that would make me full, but also something that is nice with the cold weather. He went back to his kitchen and made some delicious pasta for me. We also got a pomegranate ice tea and Turkish coffee from him. I can’t wait to have another bite there again!
Ooh, and if you plan to go there too. Don’t forget to try out the desserts!
